But Skattebo has had plenty of time to recover and is still just 24 years old. He should also enter the season as the unquestioned RB1 in the Giants’ backfield after the team opted not to make any additions in the NFL Draft or free agency. So the Giants must feel good about Skattebo coming back from injury. Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Devin Singletary are still on the roster, but that’s it.

In a small sample last season, Skattebo had 410 rushing yards, 24 catches and 207 receiving yards with seven total TDs. He was tied for the RB10 in fantasy points per game at 14.5 prior to being injured. So when Skattebo was out there, he was a great fantasy player. Boone is willing to take that shot despite the concerns about re-injury.

Boone has Skattebo ranked as the RB21 in his post-draft fantasy football rankings for 2026.
