The biggest fight in British boxing history was made official Thursday morning when it was announced that heavyweights Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury would finally share a ring later this year.
It has taken almost a decade to get to this point. Fury and Joshua held heavyweight world titles as early as 2016, but a clash ultimately never materialized. Talks reignited on separate occasions in 2019, 2021 and 2022 — with the pair even owning all four championships between them in 2021 — yet were unsuccessful every time.

In 2026, Fury, 38, and Joshua, 36, are in the final stretches of their storied careers, and now they’ll finally deliver the fight boxing fans have been waiting for.
When will they fight and where?
Fury and Joshua collide on Dec. 11 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
The Welsh venue can accommodate around 80,000 spectators — 15,000 fewer than the national stadium, Wembley Stadium; however, Principality has a fully retractable roof, making it a better fit for an outdoor event in December.
When will Fury and Joshua make their ring walks?
Although ring-walk times are currently unofficial, it is expected Fury and Joshua will enter the ring in the early hours of Saturday morning in the UK to cater to a prime time U.S. audience on Friday night.

The first bell will likely ring between 9-10 p.m. ET on Netflix.
Is it for a world title?
Joshua and Fury will have the chance to become three-time heavyweight champions on Dec. 11 with the vacant WBA (Super) heavyweight title on the line.
Other heavyweight titleholders include Filip Hrgovic (IBF), Daniel Dubois (WBO) and Agit Kabayel (WBC). Murat Gassiev is the secondary WBA heavyweight champion.
When is the press conference?
Fury and Joshua will come face-to-face for the first time since their bout was announced at a press conference Sept. 30 at British Airways Arc in London.
UFC CEO Dana White has long claimed that he will promote the showdown between the British heavyweight giants. Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, and Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren, however, have both said that White, his promotion Zuffa Boxing, and TKO — the parent company of the UFC — are barred from promotional involvement in the event.

In the fight announcement, Netflix stated that Turki Alalshikh’s “The Ring” and White would collaborate to promote Fury vs. Joshua. Hearn has since reiterated publicly that this would not be the case.
Who will be on the undercard?
The undercard has not been announced yet, but several fights are in contention.
It has been reported in recent days — and Uncrowned can confirm — that talks are ongoing to place four-division champion Shakur Stevenson in the co-feature slot against the legendary Manny Pacquiao.
Another fight that is likely to take place on the bill is an all-American welterweight showdown between Keyshawn Davis and Richardson Hitchins.
Newly crowned IBF heavyweight champion Filip Hrgovic could land a slot on the bill against Rico Verhoeven or Frank Sanchez.
