Empoli will sign striker Sebastiano Esposito from Inter Milan this summer, even if they go down to Serie B.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

Striker Sebastiano Esposito is currently on loan at Empoli in Serie A. The Tuscan side signed him last summer.

And that loan deal also contains a purchase option.

Therefore, Empoli can sign Esposito on a permanent basis at the end of the season, This would be for a fee of €5 million.

Why Empoli Will Sign Sebastiano Esposito From Inter Even If Relegated To Serie B

One thing that’s clear is that Empoli want to sign Sebastiano Esposito outright at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old has been in good form for the Azzurri.

Empoli have made it to the semifinals of the Coppa Italia. And Esposito has been a key player in this run.

Meanwhile, the Inter-owner striker’s goals and performances have been key to Empoli’s push for Serie A survival.

However, at the moment Empoli are languishing in the bottom three of the Serie A table.

It might be tough for the Tuscans to keep hold of Esposito if they are to be relegated.

However, even in that event, Empoli will sign the striker permanently. If they are to pay €5 million for him, they’re confident they can still sell him for a profit.

In that event, though, Inter would be entitled to a 20% sell-on fee minus the €5 million.
