Miami Dolphins wideout Tyreek Hill was carted off the field during Monday night’s matchup against the New York Jets and taken to a local hospital after suffering what appeared to be a gruesome leg injury.

The Dolphins reportedly believe he dislocated his knee:

Injuries haven’t generally been a major storyline in Hill’s career despite his smaller stature. But he did deal with a right wrist injury in the 2024 season that required offseason surgery (though it didn’t cost him any games).

He also dealt with an oblique injury over the summer.

The bigger storyline for Hill heading into the 2025 campaign was his decision to not play in the second half of last season’s regular-season finale, frustrated with Miami’s inability to reach the playoffs. After that game, Hill hinted that he would be open to playing elsewhere, though he walked back those comments in the offseason and apologized.

“It was tough, man,” he told reporters in May. “Obviously emotions were high then, but at the end of the day, I’m just looking to move forward from that, hoping that I can prove myself and prove to my teammates that I’m still one of them ones, man, who’s chasing 2K [receiving yards], still one of those ones chasing playoff dreams and all of that great stuff.”

When healthy and engaged, the 31-year-old remains a dynamic playmaker, even if he’s likely past his prime years. But the eight-time Pro Bowler, five-time first-team All-Pro selection and one-time champion still has the ability to take the top off a defense, freeing up crossing routes and underneath reads for Miami’s offense.

There’s no replacing him in Miami’s offense, but fellow wideout Jaylen Waddle will be tasked with leading the passing game if Hill misses time, which it appears he will. The Dolphins could also lean more heavily on running back De’Von Achane.
