Our second 90-in-90 post for the day brings us a third-straight offensive player as the first Miami Dolphins quarterback comes up in the series. We will double up some of these 90-in-90 posts to make up for days we missed and to accelerate the breakdowns – because right now we are on pace to be done with them in September.

Earlier today, we took a look at running back Anthony Hankerson who is fighting an uphill battle on the depth chart. This afternoon, we stay in the offensive backfield, but this time take a look at quarterback Cam Miller, who is hoping to claim the third quarterback spot on the depth chart.

2025 review (with Raiders/Dolphins)

No appearances

The Raiders selected Miller in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft after he threw for 3,251 yards and 33 touchdowns during the 2024 season and led North Dakota State to the second of two FCS National Championships during his five years with the team. He was waived as part of the Raiders’ final roster cuts, then re-signed to the team’s practice squad. He remained there, with no elevations to the game-day roster, throughout the season before Miami poached him during Week 18 – essentially giving them the ability to keep him into the 2026 season as a developmental project.

Offseason moves

Quarterback signings: Mark Gronowski (UDFA), Malik Willis

Released: Tua Tagovailoa

Drafted: None

2026 expectations

Miller was not officially an offseason addition after being poached in Week 18, but he has not established himself as a member of the roster yet either. With the free agent addition of Willis and 2025 seventh-round draft pick Quinn Ewers guaranteed the top two spots on the depth chart, Miller is hoping to outplay undrafted free agent rookie Gronowski. Miller and Gronkowski faced off for the 2024 Dakota Marker when Miller’s North Dakota State Bison hosted Gronowski’s South Dakota State Jackrabbits. Miller threw for 118 yards on 17-for-29 passing with an interception in the game, while Gronowski threw for 163 yards on 20-for-27 passing with two touchdowns.

The Packers started the 2025 season with two quarterbacks on the roster and one on the practice squad. With Dolphins new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and new head coach Jeff Hafley both coming from the Packers this year, it seems likely they will lean toward two quarterbacks on the roster and one on the practice squad for Miami. Miller will have to not only beat out Gronowski for the third position, but he will have to have a strong preseason if he wants to force Miami into keeping three quarterbacks on the 53-man roster.
