Miami Dolphins RB De’Von Achane gained 74 yards on 20 carries during the team’s Week 2 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Achane added three receptions (on a team-high six targets) for 19 yards.
Why It Matters: Exactly one player on Miami’s roster scares defenses. That man is Achane. Unfortunately, until Malik Willis can make defenses pay consistently, defenses will continue to stack the box and focus their efforts on stopping Achane. It’s a testament to his ability that he can still compile 93 total yards against a physical group like the 49ers on the road, but it’s a step back from what he was able to accomplish under the Mike McDaniel regime. A surefire top-10 fantasy back a season ago, Achane is more of a midrange RB2 right now.
