Markstrom was injured on Jan. 22 against the Boston Bruins and has been sidelined with a sprained MCL in his knee.
He returned to practice on Feb. 19, staying on the ice for roughly 15 minutes. Over the past few days, he has built himself up to be a full participant.
Markstrom enters tonight’s game with the third-best goals-against average in the NHL (2.20 GAA) behind Andrei Vasilevskiy (2.18 GAA) and Connor Hellebuyck (1.99 GAA).
The veteran netminder will be a welcome addition for a Devils team looking for consistency as the regular season winds down and the final push toward the playoff begins.
Puck drop between the Devils and Golden Knights will be at 8:00 p.m. ET. Fans can watch on MSGSN or listen on the Devils Hockey Network.
