Cup Series points update after Talladega race

This story is updated to reflect the post-race disqualifications of Ryan Preece and Joey Logano following inspection.

Austin Cindric is the sixth driver locked into the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs following his win in the Jack Link’s 500 on April 27 at Talladega Superspeedway.

Cindric beat Ryan Preece, whose car failed post-race inspection, by 0.022 seconds to earn his third career Cup Series victory.

Preece (rear spoiler shims) and Joey Logano (rear spoiler brace fasteners) were disqualified following post-race inspection and relegated to 38th and 39th-place finishes.

The No. 2 Team Penske Ford driver is the first Penske driver locked into the playoffs and now has wins in three of the last four regular seasons.
