Following in IO Interactive’s footsteps after the gaming publisher canceled their collaboration with the MMA star is Irish retailers who have taken McGregor’s alcohol brands off their shelves. 

The retail store announcements came Tuesday morning and were first reported by The Irish Times; the video game announcement came on Monday. 

McGregor has been ordered by an Irish court to pay the equivalent of $260,500 to Ms. Hand for damages after a jury found him liable for sexually assaulting her in a hotel room in 2018.

The fighter will not face any criminal penalties, as authorities decided not to seek prosecution. The case will conclude this week once the issue of Ms. Hand’s lawyer fees are decided. 

The Irish retailers who will no longer be carrying McGregor’s Proper No. 12 whiskey and Irish Forged Stout beer are Tesco, Costcutter, Carry Out, Supervalu, and Centra. 

The Barry Group, the company which owns Costcutter and Carry Out, told the Irish Times, “This action reflects our commitment to maintaining a retail environment that resonates with the values of our customers and partners.”

Stores in Ireland are clearly unwilling to associate with Conor anymore, as the multi-millionaire fighter finally faces some consequences after a string of women have accused him of sexual assault, as well as a few men who have been violently assaulted in public by Mr. McGregor.
