Collin Morikawa is looking for a bit of momentum as the PGA Tour hits major season. With this in mind, Morikawa is making a major change ahead of the PGA Championship.
Morikawa has had a solid start to 2025, including three top-10 finishes in his first eight tournaments. The golfer posted a T14 finish at the Masters following a T10 at The Players Championship.
Morikawa made the cut in seven of the last eight tournaments. Yet, Morikawa’s expectations are a bit higher as the golfer sits at 10th in the FedExCup standings.
When Morikawa plays at the Truist Championship, the golfer will have a new caddie on the bag. The change takes place just weeks before the PGA Championship tees off on May 15.
Morikawa is well back from the favorites in the odds to win the PGA Championship at +2200, per DraftKings.
CBS Sports’ Colt Knost reported that Morikawa has parted ways with longtime caddie JJ Jakovac. Instead, Morikawa has appointed Joe Greiner as his new caddie.

Greiner was Justin Thomas’ caddie at Augusta National during the Masters. The veteran caddie was on the bag for Max Homa before the golfer made a change ahead of the Masters.
Morikawa and Greiner will get a slight ramp up period as the golfer is not playing in the Byron Nelson. Instead, Greiner will make his debut on Morikawa’s bag at the Truist Championship beginning on May 8.
The standout golfer recently took to Instagram to reflect on his performance at the Masters and congratulate Rory McIlroy.
“Struggled quite a bit on the greens this week,” Morikawa detailed on April 14. “What makes Augusta @themasters so special is whether you play good/bad golf, you always walk away a better golfer.
“Incredible to witness history yesterday, congrats @rorymcilroy Time to get the putter hot 🔥 #patience.”
