The 2025 French Open concludes this weekend. The women’s final will see the top two seeds clash on Saturday, with Aryna Sabalenka facing Coco Gauff.
Sabalenka beat four-time champion Iga Swiatek in the semifinals to secure her place in the title match. The world No. 1 had never previously gone beyond the last four at Roland-Garros, but she will hope that this is the year she claims a third major title.
Standing in her way is American sensation Coco Gauff. The second seed overcame surprise home hopeful Lois Boisson in the last round in straight sets — in fact, the only set she has dropped all tournament came against compatriot Madison Keys in the quarterfinals on a tie-break.

The 2023 US Open champion won the doubles event here last year. Her only previous singles final in Paris came in 2022, which ended in a one-sided loss to Swiatek. Gauff is a different player now.
The winner of today’s final will pocket close to $3 million along with the famous trophy, although predicting a winner is a tough exercise: these two have each won five of their 10 previous matches, and half of all those went the distance.
The Sporting News will provide live score updates and commentary throughout the final.
