Kansas City Chiefs stars were out at NASCAR’s inaugural Cup Series race, the Anduril 250 on the streets of San Diego on Sunday.
Two-time NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes was on hand at Kyle Larson’s pit box during the NASCAR Cup Series event at Naval Base Coronado—the Chiefs quarterback had fans all over watching him at the track and catching the attention of the live broadcast.
Mahomes wasn’t alone as tight end Travis Kelce was also in attendance for the event. The Prime Sports broadcast team made sure to acknowledge the eleven-time Pro Bowler as he was caught chatting on camera. Kelce follows his brother, Jason, who recently attended a NASCAR event and was also rumored to be there.
The event marks NASCAR’s first-ever race at Naval Base Coronado, with the base’s setting providing a unique waterfront backdrop. Mahomes and Kelce’s appearance provided another reminder of the increased mainstream appeal surrounding the sport’s biggest events.
