The Florida State golf commit carded two birdies, three bogeys and a double bogey in the final round. Overall, Woods had 10 birdies and seven bogeys in the event, but he was hamstrung by a single bad hole in each round, carding a double, triple and double bogey in each respective round of the tournament.
California’s Luke Ringkamp rallied to win with a final-round 64, closing the tournament at 13-under par overall. Other notable finishers include Royal Palm Beach’s Giuseppe Puebla, who finished third (8-under), Palm Beach Gardens’ Ryan Nana Tanke, who placed sixth (5-under), and Port St. Lucie’s Jessy Huebner, who tied for seventh (4-under).
Woods was the defending champion at the Team TaylorMade Invitational. He won last year’s event after shooting 15-under across the three-day event at Streamsong Resort’s Black course, besting some of the nation’s top junior golfers like Miles Russell.
The victory was a personal breakthrough for Woods, who entered the event ranked No. 604 in the American Junior Golf Association rankings with no career AJGA tournament victories. He surged hundreds of places in the AJGA golf rankings after the win and is currently ranked No. 13 overall.
