Charlie Woods is having a bit of deja vu at this week’s 2026 Junior PGA Championship.
A week after starting slow and then bouncing back to get into a playoff for match play at the U.S. Junior Amateur, Woods has done the same at PGA Frisco in Texas. Playing the Fields Ranch West course on Wednesday, the son of 15-time major champion Tiger Woods signed for 2-under 70 on Wednesday after opening in 75 on the East course Tuesday. He moves to 1 over for the tournament, where he finished T-9 in 2025, and will make the cut by a shot. Woods is T-46 after two rounds of play.

Woods birdied his first hole of the day, the par-5 ninth, before adding another on the 18th and second. A bogey on the third was his lone blemish of the day, and the performance helped him move up the leaderboard ahead of Thursday’s third round.
The round of the day, however, belonged to Ainslie Stanford from Edmond, Oklahoma, who signed for a sizzling 9-under 63. First-round leader Kailer Stone maintains his advantage after 36 holes, sitting at 9 under overall and one ahead of Theodore Snyder and two in front of Stanford.
Alexa Takai, at 9 under, leads the girls division by two shots over Sweden’s Leah Gram. The Hawaiian shot 6-under 66 on Wednesday at Fields Ranch East to follow up an opening 69.
