Chandler Smith has been executing at a very high level in the NASCAR Truck Series during the 2026 season. With Front Row Motorsports thriving, there were rumors of Smith moving to the NASCAR Cup Series in place of Noah Gragson. However, Front Row Motorsports announced that he will not return to the organization in 2027.

“I just want the Lord’s will, whatever that means,” Smith said to NASCAR.com. “If that’s to race trucks for the rest of my life, that’s what I want to do. If the Lord obviously presents me and pushes me into an opportunity that lands in my lap and is just there and it’s pretty evident, then I want to just submit myself and be a vessel. I mean that wholeheartedly, truthfully.”
There was a time when Smith’s future in NASCAR was uncertain, but it seems like he is set up for the 2027 NASCAR season. According to FOX Sports’ Bob Pockrass, Smith is expected to sign with Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR O’Reilly Series. This means Smith is one step closer to the Cup Series.
