MITCHELL — A strong performance from the Chamberlain girls golf team led to victories on Friday.
The Cubs posted a team score of 391 to win the Parkston Invitational at Lakeview Golf Course. Additionally, Trey Speer claimed the medalist honors after firing a round of 83 around Lakeview’s par-71 layout, ending the round with eight pars to her line.
Other Cubs scores include Natalie Nelson’s 89 en route to a third-place result, Natalie Kelsey shooting a 109 to come in seventh place and Jayden McQuirk’s round of 110 to finish eighth.

Winner finished in second place with a 411, led by Gracie Root’s runner-up finish with an 87. Ava Craven shot a 93 to finish in fourth, Resse Halligan came in fifth after a round of 99 and Claire Pravecek was 13th (132).
For hosting Parkston, Finley Bogenreif (10th, 122) and Kathryn Bialas (11th, 126) led the Trojans to placing third at 519. Morgan Bax finished in 14th place at 134 and Aida Mikkonen finished in 15th place after a round of 137.
Other individual finishers who placed inside the top-15 were Mount Vernon/Plankinton’s Abby Davis (fifth, 99) and Meghan Pryor (ninth, 120).
