Miami quarterback Carson Beck is working on increasing his Heisman Trophy odds through Week 3 of the 2025-26 season.

Beck recorded 340 passing yards and four total touchdowns to lead No. 5 Miami to a 49-12 Saturday night win over No. 18 USF.

Beck’s performance in the win left some fans wondering if the Miami quarterback is establishing himself as a frontrunner to be named the top player in college football.

Beck opened the game by leading the Hurricanes on back-to-back touchdown drives, which he capped off with a 39-yard touchdown pass to Joshua Moore.

Miami scored two more touchdowns in the second quarter. On the second score of the quarter, Beck faked out the USF defense and ran the ball in himself.

Beck also gave up his first interception of the season when he was picked off by Jarvis Lee late in the opening half.

The interception marked Miami’s first turnover of the campaign. The Hurricanes had gone two games without a turnover for the first time since 1958, per Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press.

Beck threw another interception in the third quarter, which tipped off the hands of Malachi Toney to USF defender James Chenault.

The quarterback bounced back by leading the Hurricanes on another back-to-back set of touchdown drives.

Beck finished out the game having completed 23 of 28 pass attempts with three touchdowns and two interceptions, adding six carries for 28 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

The Hurricanes improved to 3-0 on the season with Saturday night’s win. Miami is back in action with another home game next Saturday against Florida, which is looking to climb the AP rankings after dropping out of last week’s Top 25.
