The NASCAR Hall of Fame added three new members to the illustrious club Friday night as Carl Edwards, Ricky Rudd and Ralph Moody were inducted as the Class of 2025.

A 28-time winner in the Cup Series, Edwards made a quick impression at NASCAR’s top level, scoring his first victory in grand fashion as he outdueled Jimmie Johnson coming to the start/finish line at Atlanta Motor Speedway in 2005 during his rookie season. Edwards set a career-high in wins when he scored nine checkered flags in 2008, ultimately finishing second in the points standings. In 2015, Edwards moved from Roush Fenway Racing to Joe Gibbs Racing, reaching the Championship 4 in 2016 before a heartbreaking crash in the closing laps took him out of title contention. Edwards announced his retirement from NASCAR before the 2017 season.

Known as NASCAR’s original “Iron Man,” Rudd made 788 consecutive starts in the Cup Series between 1981-2005. He won at least one race in 16 consecutive seasons, culminating in a career total of 23 visits to Victory Lane. Rudd owns the second most starts in Cup Series history with 906, only trailing Richard Petty’s 1,184 starts. Both Rudd and Edwards were named to NASCAR’s 75 Greatest Drivers pantheon in 2023.

Moody began his career as a driver and tallied five Cup Series wins, but his biggest contributions came in building cars as the pair of John Holman and Moody formed Holman-Moody. The organization earned two championships with David Pearson and won two Daytona 500s with Fred Lorenzen and Mario Andretti.

Dr. Dean Sicking was the recipient of the Landmark Award for Outstanding Contributions to NASCAR. Sicking was instrumental in the development of the SAFER (Steel And Foam Energy Reduction) barrier now installed at every NASCAR national series venue.
