Canucks Senior Advisor To Be Inducted Into Penguins Hall Of Fame

Jim Rutherford has been inducted into another Hall of Fame. The Vancouver Canucks Senior Advisor will be included in the Pittsburgh Penguins Hall of Fame class of 2026. This year’s class also includes Marc-Andre Fleury, Larry Murphy and Jack McGregor. 

Before joining the Canucks, Rutherford spent 2014 to 2021 with the Penguins. During his time as Pittsburgh’s General Manager, the 77-year-old won back-to-back Stanley Cups. In 2019, Rutherford was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame alongside Guy Carbonneau, Sergei Zubov, Hayley Wickenheiser, Vaclav Nedomansky and Jerry York.

As for his time with Vancouver, Rutherford spent the last five seasons as President of Hockey Operations. He stepped down from his position this past summer and moved into the role of Senior Advisor. Rutherford is also the organization’s Alternate Governor.
