Bryson DeChambeau has some big decisions to make at the end of this year.
The two-time US Open winner will see his current LIV Golf contract expire after this season, and his future is far from certain.

LIV Golf has lost its Saudi funding, raising major questions about whether the tour will even exist in 2027 and beyond. DeChambeau was seen speaking to PGA Tour officials about his future at The Masters, and he’s floated the possibility that he’ll do content creation full-time and only play the majors next year.
DeChambeau is currently on a practice run for that idea. He will not play competitive golf in between the US Open and The Open Championship because of the cancellation of LIV Louisiana, so right now he’s out of the spotlight.
But what has happened in the world of golf with DeChambeau not playing is great news for his future.

Brad Dalke’s performance on the DP World Tour is a great sign for Bryson DeChambeau
YouTuber Brad Dalke’s performance on the DP World Tour this week is one of the shocks of the golfing season. He was given a sponsor’s exemption to play the BMW International Open, and he’s two shots off the lead through 36 holes.

Dalke is an exceptional golfer, having played at The Masters and the US Open in 2017, but he doesn’t keep a full tour schedule and is instead a full-time content creator on YouTube.
So the fact that Dalke can turn up for his professional debut on the DP World Tour and compete immediately gives DeChambeau a template. It is possible to perform at your best in competitive golf while creating content.
This isn’t a weak field on the DP World Tour. Joaquin Niemann, who was in the top 10 at the US Open, and Sergio Garcia are just two of the highly regarded names competing in Germany this week.
So Dalke’s efforts so far are some much-needed encouragement for DeChambeau ahead of The Open in two weeks’ time. Now, if he can compete at Birkdale, then he’s laid out the blueprint for 2027, and we might see him step away from full-time golf.
