Bryson DeChambeau will be hopeful of winning his third U.S. Open title this week at Shinnecock Hills.

DeChambeau won the U.S. Open in 2020 at Winged Foot and in 2024 at Pinehurst No.2.

However, he has flattered to deceive at major championships recently, missing three out of his last four cuts.

Bryson DeChambeau has actually won twice on LIV Golf this season, but he put in really poor performances at The Masters and The PGA Championship.

If the winds kick up at Shinnecock Hills this week, DeChambeau may well struggle to win the US Open, due to his extremely high ball flight and the amount of spin that he imparts on all of his shots.

However, it’s worth noting that Shinnecock’s 48-yard wide fairways may well play into DeChambeau’s hands during the U.S. Open.

The 32-year-old LIV Golf star has been working extremely hard on his game this week on Long Island.

However, he has already made one very big mistake in my opinion.

Bryson DeChambeau has let his fans down again at the U.S. Open

DeChambeau has been getting on with his business in an unusually quiet manner this week at Shinnecock.

The Dallas native will be determined to right the wrongs of the first two major championships of the year by contending at the U.S. Open this week.

Away from his practice rounds this week, DeChambeau has been conspicuous by his absence in the media center at Shinnecock Hills.

DeChambeau has continued the theme of not taking part in press conferences at the majors this week at Shinnecock.

It has actually been claimed that DeChambeau has been instructed to avoid the media by his agent, due to the uncertainty surrounding LIV Golf right now.

The American has been known to put his foot in it before when speaking to the press.

It’s ridiculous really. DeChambeau is one of the biggest stars in the professional game, if not the biggest.

Yet we haven’t heard him speak during a press conference all year before the major championships.

When he speaks, he offers such insightful takes. He is blockbuster in every way, both on and off the golf course.

So with that in mind, it’s such a shame that we’re not hearing him speak to the press before the US Open this week.

Bryson DeChambeau not speaking to the media is a crying shame

It’s obvious why his management company don’t want him speaking to the media during a press conference.

He would not be able to control the narrative, and with everything going on with LIV Golf right now, DeChambeau could be put in a difficult spot by some reporters.

That’s fine. He’s just doing what’s best for him, and who knows, it may actually help him focus more on his golf.

However, for his fans, it is immensely disappointing that Bryson DeChambeau has not sat down to speak with the media ahead of the U.S. Open.

Hopefully he will open up to the press later on in the week at Shinnecock Hills.
