The futures of LIV Golf duo Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm are up in the air right now.

LIV Golf was plunged into chaos this week when Saudi Arabia’s PIF announced that they would be withdrawing their financial support of the league at the end of the 2026 season.

CEO Scott O’Neil will have a seriously tough task on his hands trying to convince potential investors to plough their money into a failing business model.

When the news broke, LIV Golf fans naturally began worrying about the futures of DeChambeau and Rahm, while fans of the PGA Tour seemed to revel in the news.

Bryson DeChambeau made a statement about his LIV Golf future on Friday, insisting that he is doing everything in his power to make things work.

However, there have been numerous conflicting claims about where the two-time US Open champion will be playing his golf next year.

Allegedly, DeChambeau sounded out PGA Tour officials at The Masters last month.

And it seems as though Jon Rahm has taken similar action.

Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm said to have contacted the PGA Tour

DeChambeau and Rahm most likely hold the key to LIV Golf’s future.

If both players stay and try to help figure things out, LIV may at least have a chance.

However, if the American and the Spaniard return to the PGA Tour it could well be curtains for LIV.

Golf media personality Trey Wingo took to his X account in response to DeChambeau once again highlighting his commitment to LIV Golf.

Wingo made a statement about LIV’s two biggest stars, claiming that they have already contacted the PGA Tour about a potential return on ‘several’ occasions.

He said: I can tell you definitively that people from Bryson’s camp have reached out to the highest levels of the PGA TOUR several times about exploring a path to return… and the same goes for Jon Rahm.

Obviously this is all a game right now. Who do we trust? DeChambeau insists he is focused on LIV Golf and that he hasn’t spoken with PGA Tour officials.

But why wouldn’t he have? Surely it would be completely normal to have a contingency plan lined up with the future of LIV Golf completely up in the air right now.

Why wouldn’t Rahm and DeChambeau have contacted the PGA Tour?

DeChambeau is currently in talks with LIV Golf regarding a new contract, while Rahm’s deal runs until 2028.

However, with the future of the league unclear right now and huge investment required from new sources, it’s totally fair to suggest that DeChambeau and Rahm may be looking elsewhere.

Brooks Koepka and Patrick Reed have already proven that there is actually a pathway back to the PGA Tour after leaving LIV Golf.

While that pathway may look slightly different for Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm, there will definitely be places on the PGA Tour for both players.

It will all depend whether LIV Golf manage to survive or not.

The next few months will be very interesting as DeChambeau’s contract talks with LIV Golf rumble on.
