But the club can already imagine (and plan) for the participation in another international competition later this year.

The South American title secured Flamengo a spot in the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, a tournament that brings together all the continental champions of 2025.

The competition was “revamped” last year, even gaining a new name.

The format adopted in 2024 places the European champion directly in the final of the competition.

Therefore, PSG is already in the decision thanks to its unprecedented Champions League title won in May.

The Intercontinental Cup began in September, with the opening match between Auckland City and Pyramids.

The Egyptian club won and subsequently overcame Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia, securing a spot in the semifinal and the FIFA Africa-Asia-Oceania Cup trophy.

The other semifinalist will emerge from the clash between Flamengo and Cruz Azul, which is worth the Americas Derby trophy.

The debut of the Rubro-Negro and the subsequent matches of the Intercontinental Cup take place in Qatar.
