The Laver Cup is back in London, and by at least one metric, this is the most star-studded affair yet.
For the first time in the history of the event, all participating players will be ranked inside the ATP’s Top 25 ranking.
It should make for a compelling three days of tennis at The O2 London from Sep. 25-27 where Team Europe, led by captain Yannick Noah and featuring US Open champion Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz, will try to avenge a loss to Andre Agassi’s Team World from 2025 in San Francisco.
Here are the stars who will be in action on the Laver Cup’s distinctive black courts.

Laver Cup Team Europe Roster
Alexander Zverev, Germany
Rank: World No. 2
US Open result: Zverev won his second Grand Slam of 2026, defeating Ben Shelton in four sets in the final. He battled through five-set matches in the opening round, but found his level and wasn’t truly threatened in the second week of the tournament.
Laver Cup history: This is Zverev’s seventh Laver Cup, the most of any player in the history of the event. He is tied with Jack Sock with 16 total matches and has a 7-4 record in singles and 2-3 in doubles.
Carlos Alcaraz, Spain
Rank: World No. 3
US Open result: Alcaraz reached the quarterfinals before being eliminated by Ben Shelton in a scintillating five-set match. Alcaraz had not played due to a wrist injury for over four months, and he reported he was pain-free during his five-match run in New York.
Laver Cup history: This will be the third year in a row for Alcaraz. He is 6-2 overall, going 3-1 in both singles and doubles.
Flavio Cobolli, Italy
Rank: World No. 7
US Open result: Cobolli reached the third round in New York before falling to Germany’s Alexander Blockx. He went 12-4 on the year in Grand Slam matches, reaching the final at Roland Garros.
Laver Cup history: Cobolli’s maiden Laver Cup was last year in San Francisco, where he lost his only match to Joao Fonseca 6-4, 6-3.
Rafael Jodar, Spain
Rank: World No. 14
US Open result: After a promising hard-court swing where he went 10-3 in Washington, Canada and Cincinnati, Jodar was upset in the first round by qualifier Yunchaokete Bu of China 6-2, 6-1, 6-1.
Laver Cup history: This will be the 19-year-old Jodar’s first Laver Cup.
Jakub Mensik, Czechia
Rank: World No. 15
US Open result: Mensik reached the third round, where he fell to American Learner Tien in a tight five-setter.
Laver Cup history: Mensik played three matches in his initial Laver Cup appearance last year, splitting his singles matches and winning on the doubles side.
Casper Ruud, Norway
Rank: World No. 18
US Open result: Ruud participated in the mixed doubles at the US Open, but a back injury suffered at Cincinnati caused him to withdraw from the singles competition in New York before the main draw started.
Laver Cup history: This will be Ruud’s sixth consecutive Laver Cup, and he has a 4-1 singles record and 2-2 doubles record over nine Laver matches.

Laver Cup Team World Roster
Ben Shelton, USA
Rank: World No. 4
US Open result: Shelton reached his first Grand Slam final after an exciting run through the tournament that included wins over Alcaraz, Francis Tiafoe, Stephanos Tsitsipas and Denis Shapovolov. He lost in four sets to Zverev on Sunday.
Laver Cup history: Shelton missed 2025 due to injury, but participated in 2023 and 2024 and owns a 6-2 record, including 4-1 in singles.
Alex de Minaur, Australia
Rank: World No. 9
US Open result: De Minaur was upset in the second round by Botic van de Zandschulp, de Minaur’s earliest Grand Slam exit since the 2025 French Open.
Laver Cup history: This is de Minaur’s third Laver Cup. He was 3-0 in San Francisco, beating Zverev and Mensik in singles and winning his doubles match with Alex Michelsen.
Taylor Fritz, USA
Rank: World No. 10
US Open result: Fritz was upset by Laver Cup teammate Francisco Cerundulo in the third round, blowing a two-set lead. It was his earliest exit in New York since 2022.
Laver Cup history: This will be Fritz’s sixth Laver Cup, the most of any Team World player. He beat Alcaraz last year for the first time in his career, then clinched the Cup with a dramatic win over Zverev in San Francisco. He is 7-3 overall, including 6-2 in singles.

Learner Tien, USA
Rank: World No. 13
US Open result: In his fifth appearance at the US Open, the 20-year-old was finally ready to win matches. He reached the fourth round before bowing out in a five-set loss to Karen Khachanov.
Laver Cup history: This will be Tien’s first appearance.
Alexander Bublik, Kazakstan
Rank: World No. 17
US Open result: Bublik reached the third round before falling to American Tommy Paul in five sets. He went 8-4 in the four Grand Slams this year.
Laver Cup history: This is Bublik’s first Laver Cup.
Francisco Cerundolu, Argentina
Rank: World No. 23
US Open result: He reached the fourth round in New York, a career-best result in his fifth US Open. He recorded a Round 3 win over Taylor Fritz before falling to Blockx.
Laver Cup history: This is Cerundolu’s third appearance, and he carries a 3-1 singles record with his only loss coming to Alcarez in San Francisco last year.
