New general manager for the Miami Dolphins — Jon-Eric Sullivan — has been very clear this offseason about his intention to keep running back De’Von Achane in an aqua and orange uniform for the foreseeable future. On Wednesday night, he made good on those intentions — inking the 24-year-old ball-carrier to a new contract that will tie Achane to the Dolphins for an additional four seasons.
According to ESPN’s Marcel Louis Jacques, Achane and the team agreed to terms on a 4-year, $64 million extension, with bonuses that could push the deal up to $17 million per season if certain conditions are met.
Since joining the organization as a third-round draft pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Achane has been one of the most explosive dual-threat playmakers in the National Football League. He has amassed 3,057 yards rushing on 544 attempts (5.6 yards per carry) and 22 rushing scores. His yards per carry average is the highest in NFL history. Achane has also caught 172 passes for 1,277 yards and 13 receiving touchdowns during his three years in Miami.

Achane is now signed with the Dolphins through the 2030 season. He will be 29-years-old when his contract expires — giving Miami the running back’s prime years as a professional.
