The Atlanta Braves, who hold a five and a half game lead in the NL East and hold a 97.5 percent chance at making the playoff per Fangraphs, have selected RHP Elieser Hernández to the major league roster after optioning LHP Connor Thomas to Triple-A Gwinnett following yesterday’s game. The last time we all saw Elieser was way back on Friday. He pitched three innings of one-hit ball and grabbed the win against the Baltimore Orioles. The .125 BABIP wasn’t fully lucky, as he picked up at least three pop-ups in that game. The Braves might have to cover two games on Wednesday depending on the weather, and Elieser will likely be a part of that.

Returning to Gwinnett after three games in The Show is Connor Thomas. He picked up eight outs in last night’s game versus the Mets. Connor will return to Triple-A and continue what he does well, getting dudes out in Gwinnett at a 1.98/3.64/4.17 clip. That’s good for a 41 ERA-, 76 FIP-, and a 85 xFIP-. He’ll be back, probably.
