The NASCAR O’Reilly Series competed at Chicagoland Speedway, and it was a thrilling event. On the Fourth of July, NASCAR was forced to delay the start of the event due to the weather. Connor Zilisch won Stage 1, while Chase Elliott won Stage 2; however, neither driver was able to enter victory lane.
Brandon Jones and the No. 20 team for Joe Gibbs Racing won Saturday night’s race at Chicagoland, earning their first victory of the 2026 O’Reilly Series season. Jones was able to pass Elliott in NASCAR overtime, securing the first victory at Chicagoland in NASCAR since Alex Bowman during the 2019 season.

It has been a tough season for Jones and the No. 20 team, but everything came to fruition on Saturday night. Jones displayed elite speed and had to pass a NASCAR Cup Series champion to win the race. It might arguably be the best restart of Jones’ NASCAR career against Elliott at Chicagoland.
