The women’s game is flourishing right now, with the LPGA Tour in really good shape.

The final round of the US Women’s Open on Sunday was proof of just how much the ladies’ game has grown recently.

However, that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for further improvement.

Korda won her fourth major title at the US Women’s Open on Sunday after she put in an outstanding performance over four days at Riviera.

However, what Brandel Chamblee heard not long after Korda’s impressive victory highlighted how the LPGA Tour still has a lot of work to do.

Brandel Chamblee urges LPGA Tour to make change after the US Women’s Open

Chamblee has been speaking about the US Women’s Open on his Favorite Chamblee Podcast.

The former PGA Tour player covered the tournament throughout the week in Pacific Palisades for Golf Channel.

Chamblee made it very clear just how much he loved the US Women’s Open and he insisted that the tournament was a huge success.

However, there was one big problem – one that Chamblee only really discovered while speaking to a golf fan when he was on his way out of Los Angeles.

I was at the airport on Monday waiting for my flight. I’m sitting there trying to get organised, you know, and a guy comes up to me and he goes, ‘man, what a tournament yesterday’, Chamblee explained.

I was just like, ‘yeah, it was incredible’.

And he goes, ‘J.T. Poston and Gerard, right down the stretch in a playoff’.

I was like, I was like almost p–––––. I was like, ‘you’re kidding me right?’ I didn’t watch one shot of J.T. Poston and Gerard.

Nothing against The Memorial, but we’re in L.A. Right. I was there for the U.S. Women’s Open. I was so engrossed in that.

But I thought to myself, ‘Why does the LPGA compete against the PGA Tour?’ It is like the PGA Tour competing against football.

I think one of the things that they could do to get more eyeballs, tell more stories, which would help this positive feedback loop going up.

You tell the stories, you get more interest, you get more interest, you get more eyeballs, and more stories get told.

End on Saturday, or end on Monday.

You would have the whole landscape of golf as a winner on Saturday, or you would have the entire landscape of golf on a Monday or Tuesday finish.

What a great point that is from Chamblee.

LPGA Tour change should be a no-brainer

The US Women’s Open last week was a truly fantastic spectacle.

However, it was going head-to-head with The Memorial Tournament – one of the PGA Tour’s biggest and most popular events.

While the women’s game is booming right now, why not look at ways to make it even more popular?

The LPGA Tour shifting their tournaments to run from Wednesday through Saturday, or Friday through Monday would be such an easy win for them.

Then, their final round would not be in direct competition with the final round of PGA Tour tournaments.

There is always room for more growth, regardless of how much a company or entity has been gaining in popularity.

Brandel Chamblee’s suggestion about moving LPGA Tour events so that they do not finish on Sundays makes perfect sense.
