Toronto Blue Jays All-Star shortstop Bo Bichette will miss the American League Championship Series against the Seattle Mariners because of a sprained knee.

Bichette has been out of the lineup for Toronto since he suffered the injury during a Sept. 6 game against the New York Yankees. He collided with catcher Austin Wells at home plate, spraining his left knee in the process. The Blue Jays placed their star shortstop on the injured list on Sept. 9.

Prior to going down with the knee injury, Bichette was having a remarkable season after a down year in 2024. He finished the season with a .311 batting average, 18 home runs and 94 RBI, the second-highest of his career. He played in 139 games (Bichette played in only 81 games in 2024) and had a .483 slugging percentage and .840 OPS.
