Wyndham Clark has been the comeback player of the season.
The American entered this season off the back of what was, all things considered, the worst year of his career in 2025. He was struggling for form and embroiled in controversy after smashing up the locker room at Oakmont and throwing a club at the PGA Championship.

But he’s corrected his form this season and is playing the golf of his life. Clark won the US Open, the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, and most recently the BMW Championship to put his name in the Player of the Year race against Scottie Scheffler.
Blades Brown played with Clark during his CJ Cup win and, in an exclusive interview with HITC, revealed what he noticed about the two-time US Open winner and why he is so dominant on the PGA Tour this year.

Blades Brown explains what makes Wyndham Clark elite
19-year-old Brown has had an incredible season on both the Korn Ferry and PGA Tour this year, and he’s played alongside both Scheffler and Clark.

He took a lot from his experience with Clark, and told HITC what separates him from the rest of the players on the PGA Tour: “I got to play with Wyndham at the Byron Nelson, and I learned you have to be a really good putter. Anything inside 30 feet with that guy is going in.
“I remember it was on hole 16 at the Byron Nelson, and he hit it 40 yards right. I looked at Brett, and I said, ‘I didn’t know that a major champion could hit it that far right.’ And then he hits it 30 feet and makes birdie, and I go, ‘woah, he’s really good.'”
He continued, “That dude knows how to putt. And I think his putter is what makes him so dominant on PGA Tour events. I remember watching last week; he had a 5-shot lead going into Sunday. And I said, ‘ok it’s wraps, Wyndham is going to win.’
“Then I checked back on hole 12, and he’s tied with Rory, and I’m like, ‘woah, what happened?’ Then Wyndham makes three in a row going down the stretch from 15-20 feet plus. So I think Wyndham’s putter is what allows him to be a beast on the PGA Tour.”

Clark was unshakeable on the greens at the US Open, which allowed him to win his second major title despite the hostile Shinnecock crowd rooting against him.
When you’re that good with the flat stick, you always have the chance to bail yourself out of trouble, and that’s Clark’s superpower.
