Jamal Musiala is the latest to join Bayern Munich’s growing injury list after suffering a hamstring issue in the 3-1 win against Augsburg.

The German playmaker limped off the field at the start of the second half, having scored the equaliser before half-time.

Bayern sporting director Max Eberl stated after the game that the injury doesn’t look good, and Musiala will miss the Champions League quarter-final first-leg against Inter Milan next week.

With Alphonso Davies, Dayot Upamecano, Hiroki Ito, Manuel Neuer and Kingsley Coman already on the sidelines, Musiala’s injury further depletes the options for manager Vincent Kompany in the crucial period of the season.

Bayern will be anxious over the extent of Musiala’s injury due to his utmost significance to the team.

The 22-year-old has been in terrific form this season, instrumental in Bayern’s hunt for the Bundesliga and Champions League trophies.

He has racked up 18 goals and eight assists in all competitions.

Harry Kane’s strike and an own goal from Chrislain Matsima helped Bayern beat 10-man Augsburg.

Michael Olise also continued his stellar run of form after setting up Kane’s strike.

With the victory, the Bavarians extended their lead to nine points at the top of the table ahead of Bayer Leverkusen, who will face Heidenheim on Saturday.

The attacking onus will completely rest on Kane and Olise, heading into the vital UCL fixture against Inter.

With Musiala out, Kompany will rely on Thomas Muller and Leroy Sane in the No.10 role.

Sane has been in impressive form lately, making seven goal involvements in the last eight league games.

Meanwhile, Muller will look to show his experience and class amid reports that he could part ways with Bayern at the end of the season.
