Barcelona will be confirmed as La Liga champions if they defeat Espanyol, and they are on course to do so after taking the lead against their local rivals at the RCDE Stadium.
It has been a frustrating evening for the league leaders, who were poor in the first half (which was delayed temporarily due to an incident outside the stadium). Hansi Flick made two changes in the opening stages of the second period, and this has helped Barcelona towards making the breakthrough, which was done in spectacular fashion by Lamine Yamal.
What a hit by Lamine Yamal! 🤯🤯

It is another wonderful goal from the 17-year-old, who has been frustrating this evening – but Barcelona supporters will forgive him now. It’s similar to the one he scored against France in Euro 2024 last summer as he cuts inside on to his left foot before firing the ball into the top corner.
As things stand, Barcelona will go seven points clear of Real Madrid. And with only two games to go, it would mean that the La Liga title is won tonight.
