Barcelona have been handed a welcome piece of news ahead of a crucial stretch of the season, as Mundo Deportivo confirms that Raphinha will face no disciplinary action following his emotional outburst after the 1-1 draw against Real Betis.

The Brazilian winger, clearly frustrated with the officiating, allowed his emotions to boil over—but he is now free to continue playing without the risk of suspension.

The situation escalated in the dying moments of the match when Raphinha whipped in a dangerous cross that was touched by a Betis defend, disrupting a clear scoring opportunity for Fermin Lopez.

While many expected the referee, Gil Manzano, to award a corner kick, he instead blew for full-time—prompting a furious response from the Brazilian.

Raphinha’s outburst

Raphinha’s reaction was immediate and intense. He confronted the assistant referee and refused to be calmed down, even after Robert Lewandowski and Hansi Flick tried to pull him away.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen also attempted to de-escalate things, but the Brazilian, in a fit of rage, shook off the goalkeeper’s hand placed on his chest.

His fury did not end on the pitch either. As he walked toward the tunnel, Raphinha continued venting at the officials, even telling one of the assistant referees, “You don’t tell me to shut up, you’re rude.”

No sanction for Raphinha

Despite the public nature of the incident, Raphinha has been saved by the referee’s report. Gil Manzano did not include the Brazilian’s actions in his official post-match notes, and no additional remarks were added in the hours after the match.

As a result, no retrospective punishment will be applied, and Barcelona will be able to count on the winger going forward.

This is not just good news—it is crucial news for Flick’s side. With key fixtures ahead, especially in the Champions League and domestic competitions, having Raphinha available keeps their attacking options intact.

The club will likely view this as a bullet dodged, and internally, this could be a moment for reflection rather than reprimand.
