Atalanta have seemingly beaten Milan to the signature of Genoa talent Honest Ahanor, close to an agreement for €15m plus €5m in add-ons.
The 17-year-old is a product of the Genoa youth academy and only made six Serie A appearances in his career, but already impressed enough to warrant this €20m price-tag.
He was quickly identified as the ideal replacement for both Atalanta, who are selling Matteo Ruggeri to Atletico Madrid, and Milan after Theo Hernandez accepted the Al-Hilal transfer.
Atalanta have Ahanor in hand

According to Sky Sport Italia, Atalanta have seen their proposal accepted with a fixed fee of €15m and an additional €5m in performance-related bonuses.
It means Milan are going to have to look elsewhere for the heir to Theo Hernandez on the left side of defence.
Ahanor only turned 17 in February and was born in Italy to Nigerian parents, gaining Italian citizenship in 2023.
He has not yet been capped by the Azzurri at youth level.
