In a recent report, The Athletic mentioned that Arsenal remain keen on signing Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze this summer. It is believed that the Gunners are trying to negotiate the English talent’s £60m release clause instead of activating it in this summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old managed to put in a series of impressive displays for the Eagles in the final third last season. Eze netted 14 goals and earned 11 assists in 43 matches for Crystal Palace last season across all competitions.
The London-born talent was a real menace in the final third as he averaged 3.48 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He kept only 27% of his attempts on target. Eze distributed the ball well in the opponent’s half based on his pass completion rate of 74.2% in the English first division (stats via fbref.com).
Eze is under contract at Selhurst Park until the summer of 2027. Thus, the Gunners would have to make a big offer if they are serious about acquiring his services this off-season.

Eze can strike the ball with venom from long range but needs to keep more of his attempts on target. He has got the vision to create a few inviting chances for his teammates to find the back of the net.
The English sensation is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few dangerous runs in the opponent’s half. Eze can contribute by scoring and creating a handful of important goals for his team. He primarily operates in the number ten position but can also function as a left-sided wide player if asked to do so by his manager.
Eze already knows the Premier League well and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the North London club. We can expect him to inject more quality and depth into Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta’s frontline.
At 27, Eze is about to enter his prime which makes him a great choice for the Gunners to consider in this summer transfer window. All in all, Arteta would be wise to go for a player of his quality and skill set this off-season.
