Spring sports are winding down in Arizona, and there’s plenty of activity, including college sports and a new season for the Phoenix Mercury, Phoenix Rising FC and Arizona Rattlers. Here are updates on news and events happening around Arizona sports:
Sun Devils, Wildcats men’s golf make it to NCAA Championship
No. 11 Arizona State qualified for the NCAA golf championships Wednesday, May 20, comfortably advancing at the 13-team Columbus, Ohio, regional by 7 shots in their fourth-place finish.

Both Arizona State and Arizona will compete in next week’s championship in Carlsbad, California, beginning Friday, May 29.
Senior Michael Mjaaseth led ASU, tying for seventh at 4-over 217 for the 54 holes, while freshman Boston Bracken fired a final-day 71.
This is the eighth trip to the championship in nine seasons under coach Matt Thurmond.
The Arizona Wildcats dominated their regional at Marana’s Gallery Golf Club, winning by 14 strokes.
Senior Zach Pollo tied for first, helping wrap up the Wildcats three big days with a 63 in Round 2 en route to a 15-under final score.
