“We want to play the same way, but a big team understands sometimes you have the ball, sometimes you have to defend. In this match, we have the same ideas, but we’ll see,” Amorim told DAZN Italia.

Matteo Gabbia is ruled out by an ankle injury, but Luka Modric and Adrien Rabiot return to the starting XI after being eased back in following the World Cup.

Above all, Diego Moreira finally gets his debut for the Rossoneri, after two whole matches sat on the bench.
“He is ready, he had a very good week, and when you prepare well, you are going to play well. I know it’s his first match, but he’s confident, he’s ready for the game,” assured Amorim.

Goncalo Ramos said he is not setting a target for goals, but rather aiming for the Scudetto, so seeing Inter and Roma victories last night, are Milan in the title race?
“It’s difficult to say, we have two months of work, so I don’t know for sure which moment we are at,” replied Amorim.

“What I do know is that we can win any game. If we are going to be able to fight for the title this season, I don’t know, it depends on the momentum. We do have the players for that, but we must also understand that we need time to work.

“Some teams have been playing with the same players for so long, they had better seasons than us last year, we are building something, but I don’t want to take responsibility off my players. We must understand the reality, but also go for every game and fight for the win.”
