According to L’Équipe, Alexandre Lacazette (33) is unlikely to extend his contract at Lyon and could be set to leave the club on a free transfer. The OL captain’s contract at the Groupama Stadium is set to expire at the end of the season.

Since the arrival of Paulo Fonseca at Les Gones, opportunities have become more limited for the former Arsenal striker. Summer signing Georges Mikautadze has been awarded with more minutes under the Portuguese head coach, potentially offering a glimpse as to what the future holds for the former France international forward.

Lacazette almost left his boyhood club during the most recent summer transfer window. Clubs from Saudi Arabia showed interest in the 33-year-old but he opted to reject advances from the Saudi Pro League clubs in favour of playing in the Europa League with Lyon. If the interest remains, a move to Saudi Arabia on a free transfer could be a potential option for Lacazette.
