NASCAR’s The Chase continues this weekend at Kansas Speedway, marking the fourth race in the 10-race chase as we get one step closer toward a Cup Series champion being named. As always, starting position will be crucial thanks to the importance of stage points, putting extra attention on the qualifying order that will determine the lineup for the Hollywood Casino 400 on Sunday.
Of note, the forecast calls for rain at Kansas Speedway on Friday and Saturday. It could mean that for the second consecutive week, practice and qualifying get rained out. If that happens, the metric score will determine the starting lineup. Importantly, The Chase drivers are only grouped together in qualifying. If it gets rained out, the likes of Ryan Blaney and Chase Briscoe will start Sunday’s race near the back of the field due to the metric score heavily weighing their latest performances at Bristol.
