The San Francisco 49ers worked out two kickers on Saturday. Veterans Greg Joseph and Younghoe Koo.
Joseph, 32, last kicked in 2018. He has more recent punting experience, which came in 2023. Koo was most recently with the Giants in 2025. Raheem Morris knows Koo well, as he was the Falcons kicker from 2018 through the early part of the 2025 season.

According to Matt Maiocco, the team did not sign either one, which means they’re confident Eddy Pineiro is no longer sick and will be available for Sunday’s home opener against the Miami Dolphins.
Pineiro didn’t practice all week due to an illness. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said on Friday the team would work out kickers ahead of the game. It was unclear whether that move was preventive. Turns out, that’s exactly what happened.
The NFL issues fines every week. Jake Tonges was fined $9,266 for a leg-whip block. The double whammy for Tonges is that it came on the play where he sustained a season-ending injury. It was a play in which Tonges left his feet and tried to cut block Rams edge rusher Myles Garrett.
Tonges wasn’t the only player fined. Fullback Kyle Juszczyk was fined $20,033 for unnecessary roughness on the 49ers’ first play of the second half. The fine was for illegal use of his helmet.

Edge rusher Ogbo Okoronkwo was activated from the practice squad to the active roster. The corresponding move was to place rookie wide receiver De’Zhaun Stribling on the Injured Reserve. Okoronkwo played 16 snaps for the 49ers defense in Week 1.
