Florida State offensive coordinator Tim Harris Jr. and defensive coordinator Tony White spoke with local media on Wednesday, with both of them of the opinion that the Seminoles are just a few plays away from playing to their potential:
“The quarterback knowing where people are gonna be, guys knowing exactly their depth on routes, we’ve just got to do a better job of that overall,” Harris said. “But you look at our game the other night, the planning and how we gameplan things — things were there, and we just have to execute better.”
“You’re pissed off like hell,” White said. “But when you look at the football, and I think there was 69 plays in there or something, the men went out there and they played their tails off. For about 60 plays in there they balled, and there’s nine plays that you want back.”

FSU has finalized its 2026-27 schedule, releasing its ACC slate a month after revealing the Seminoles’ non-conference opponents:
Florida State opens ACC play at home against Syracuse on Dec. 29, followed by a trip to the west coast to face Cal on Jan. 6 and Stanford on Jan. 9. Next, the Seminoles return home to host North Carolina on Jan. 13.
Following a road matchup at Wake Forest on Jan. 16, Florida State hosts Virginia Tech on Jan. 20 and travels to Clemson on Jan. 23. The Seminoles then close January with home games against Notre Dame on Jan. 26 and Pitt on Jan. 30.
February begins with a pair of road games at NC State (Feb. 3) and Miami (Feb. 6) before the Seminoles return home to host Clemson on Feb. 13. Florida State then travels to Duke on Feb. 16 before hosting Louisville on Feb. 21 and Georgia Tech on Feb. 23.
The Seminoles play back-to-back road contests at Virginia on Feb. 27 and at Boston College on March 3 before concluding the regular season at home on March 6 versus Miami. Postseason play takes place March 9-13 with the ACC Tournament being held in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The Seminoles will enter ACC play following a 14-game non-conference. Florida State opens the season Nov. 2 against Florida A&M in Tampa before beginning a six-game home stretch Nov. 6 against Troy.

FSU women’s golf won the Folds of Honor Collegiate, overcoming a seven-stroke deficit:
Entering the final round in third place and seven shots behind Kansas, the Seminoles fired a five-under 283 to finish at three-under for the tournament to narrowly hold off Texas A&M for the team title.
Florida State steadied itself during a dramatic finish on the back nine, where the Seminoles were part of a four-way tie for first at one point before pulling away to secure the championship.
Leading the charge for the second consecutive day was Haruhi Nakatani, who capped her round with a clutch par on the 18th hole to secure both the team championship and a share of the individual title – the first collegiate victory of her career.
Nakatani picked up right where she left off Tuesday, when she birdied three of her final four holes. She opened Wednesday with back-to-back birdies on Nos. 1 and 2 before adding three more birdies, including a lengthy putt on the par-4 17th that moved her into a tie for first on the individual leaderboard with one hole to play.
After choosing to lay up on the par-5 18th, Nakatani’s third shot went long of the green. The sophomore calmly recovered, getting up-and-down for par by sinking a four-foot putt to finish her round and clinch the Seminoles’ team title. She finished at six-under 210 for the tournament and shared medalist honors.
Alexandra Gazzoli delivered her best round of the tournament when the Seminoles needed it most, carding a two-under 70. The junior made an eagle on the par-5 sixth and added a lengthy birdie putt on No. 18 to close her round in style.
Preseason All-American Sophia Fullbrook provided another steady performance, recording one birdie, one bogey and 16 pars for an even-par 72. The junior finished at one-under 215 for the tournament, earning a ninth-place finish and her 10th career top 10 result as a Seminole.
Elin Pudas Remler provided the fourth counting score for the Seminoles, finishing with a one-over 73. The junior also closed with a birdie on No. 18 to help Florida State secure the championship.
The victory marks Florida State’s first ever team title at the prestigious Folds of Honor Collegiate, an event the Seminoles co-host with Michigan State and have participated in for three consecutive seasons. It also marks the first time since 2016 that Florida State has won its season-opening event, when the Seminoles claimed the Schooner Fall Classic.
Meanwhile, Nakatani becomes the second Seminole to capture the individual title at the tournament, joining Mirabel Ting, who won the event in 2024.
Florida State returns to action Sept. 14-16 at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup at PGA Frisco in Frisco, Texas.
On the FSU men’s golf side, Shawn Coultoff led the Seminoles with a ninth-place finish at 4-under:
It was the best finish in a debut for an FSU men’s golfer since Jack Bigham tied for fourth place at the Maui Jim Invitational in 2022.
After turning in rounds of 67 and 73, Coultoff started the day with a bogey-free front nine, carding four birdies. He finished the round shooting 2-under, 69.
Wilmer Edero also carded a round of 2-under, 69 on Wednesday, matching his score from the second round. He moved up the leaderboard and finished the tournament 3-over, 216 tying for 31st place.
Nils-Levi Bock also made his debut in the Garnet and Gold this weekend, finishing tied for 46th place at 7-over, 220. In the final round, Bock matched his score from the first round, carding 1-over, 72. Bock had two birdies on the day, both back-to-back on holes 12 and 13.
Carson Brewer was 9-over, 222 for the tournament, tying for 51st.
Tyler Weaver, who was a part of the 10-man team that won the Walker Cup in Ireland on Sunday along with Jack Whaley for GB&I, was named to the 2026-27 PGA Tour University Top 25. Weaver opens his senior year at No. 2 after capturing two points following the Walker Cup victory.
The No. 20 Seminoles will head to Illinois for the Olympia Fields Country Club/Fighting Illini Invitational, Sept. 19-21.

FSU volleyball (4-3) took down Louisiana last night in a 3-1 win:
The Seminoles recorded 62 kills, 69 digs and seven blocks while holding the Ragin’ Cajuns to a .118 hitting percentage.
Senior outside hitter Kyleene Filimaua led the Seminole attack with a match-high 20 kills while hitting .340, adding 10 digs for her fourth double-double of the season. It marked her second double-double with at least 20 kills and 10 digs this season.
Sophomore middle blocker Nenu Kpea added 12 kills and a match-high four blocks, while sophomore outside hitter Lexie Mason made her first start of the season and finished with eight kills, hitting .300, and three blocks.
Junior setter Emma Lilo once again led the Seminoles with a match-high 31 assists, while junior libero Maile Chan recorded a match-high 15 digs.
Louisiana jumped out to an early lead in the opening set before Florida State tied the score at 7-7. The Ragin’ Cajuns then took a 15-11 lead into the media timeout. Florida State cut the deficit to two at 18-16, but Louisiana held on to take the first set 25-21.
Florida State responded with a fast start in the second set, taking a 4-0 lead and extending its advantage to 15-8 at the media timeout. Louisiana battled back to tie the set at 19-19, but an attacking error and back-to-back kills from Filimaua put the Seminoles ahead 22-19. Three more Florida State kills closed out the set 25-22 to even the match at 1-1.
The Seminoles again jumped out to an early lead in the third set, taking an 11-5 advantage and forcing a Louisiana timeout. Florida State led 15-7 at the media timeout and extended its lead to 23-15 late in the set before the Ragin’ Cajuns used a 5-1 run to cut the deficit to 24-20. Following an FSU timeout, a block from Mason and junior middle blocker Delaney Ewing closed out the set 25-21, giving the Seminoles a 2-1 lead.
Florida State controlled the fourth set from start to finish, taking a 15-10 lead into the media timeout. Louisiana continued to battle, cutting the deficit to 20-19, but the Seminoles closed the match with a 5-3 run. Kills from Filimaua and Kpea, along with an ace from Filimaua, sealed the 25-22 set victory and the 3-1 match win.
The Seminoles remain home to host FIU on Sunday at noon before welcoming North Alabama to Tully Gymnasium on Monday at 6 p.m. Both matches will be streamed live on ACCNX, with live stats available on Seminoles.com.
