Carlos Alcaraz makes his return to tennis after four months off with a wrist injury as he bids to defend his US Open crown in New York.

He won’t have world No.1 Jannik Sinner to contend with either with the Italian pulling out with a knee problem, but usual suspects Novak Djokovic, Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton will all be in the mix once more.

On the women’s side, Aryna Sabalenka enters as the clear favorite to defend her crown but faces tough competition from the likes of Iga Swiatek and American star Coco Gauff.
