Some of the biggest stars in boxing will be competing this weekend. One boxer looks to break a record while another attempts to hold gold in another weight class.
Most Valuable Promotions produces another boxing card this weekend, this time live on TikTok in California. Multi-division champion Amanda Serrano defends her WBA and WBO featherweight titles against Lucrecia Manzur.
Serrano is on a two-fight win streak since the Katie Taylor trilogy. She has a goal to win the fight via knockout, her 33rd win via the power punch, which would break the record she shares with Hall of Famer Christy Martin.
Meanwhile, Las Vegas will host a generational fight for welterweight gold when Rolando Romero defends the WBA welterweight title against Teofimo Lopez.
A former unified lightweight champion, Lopez moved to 140 and won gold there. After losing against Shakur Stevenson, “The Takeover” looks to regroup and win gold in another division. A former super lightweight champion, Romero is 3-1 in his last four fights, beating Ryan Garcia to take home the welterweight title.

Amanda Serrano (c) vs. Lucrecia Manzur (WBA and WBO featherweight titles)
Per FanDuel Sportsbook, Amanda Serrano is the -3000 favorite, while Lucrecia Manzur is the +1260 underdog.
Serrano is a complete technical fighter who has thrived in multiple weight classes. She ranks ninth among active fighters in +/-, with an 8.3 mark. She averages the most punches thrown per round (71.4) and landed (22.1). “The Real Deal” ranks first in average jabs thrown (28.6) and fifth in jabs landed (4.1). She’s as dangerous as they come.
Serrano proved how powerful she is against Katie Taylor in a trilogy. In the first fight, Serrano landed more total punches (173 of 624 shots compared to 147 of 375 shots). She connected on 44 strikes in the fifth round and 32 in the 10th round.
In the rematch, Serrano landed more accurate shots (324 of 734 – 44.1%) compared to Taylor (217 of 529 – 41%). She landed 215 strikes in the last four rounds in a controversial loss. The trilogy saw them land the same amount of punches (70), with Taylor being the more accurate fighter.

Since then, she went the distance against Reina Tellez and easily punched out Cheyenne Hanson.
Manzur has won five straight, her best win coming against Marcela Acuna in 2024. It’s her first world title fight, and the Argentinian has seven wins via the power punch.
There’s a reason the odds are so wide here. Serrano’s power is on another level, and Manzur hasn’t faced anyone like her. Serrano’s opponents land the second-highest power shots (31.4%). The question is simple: Can Manzur even touch her? Or will Serrano tire out late in the fight?
With all eyes on her, Serrano should make history, not just earning her 50th win, but by earning another win via knockout.

Rolando Romero vs. Teofimo Lopez predictions

Per the DraftKings Sportsbook, Teofimo Lopez is the -260 favorite, while Rolando Romero is the +200 underdog.
Romero averages 30.4 total punches per round, the second-fewest in all of boxing. He beat Ismael Barroso in 2023 via a controversial TKO call, as Romero barely beat his opponent in punches landed (20.4% to 19.2%). Romero only landed double-digit shots once. “Rolly” minimized risk against Manuel Jaimes, landing close to 28% of his punches and connecting on double-digit shots from the fifth round on.
Romero is one of the most unique fighters out there. Things can click, or it can end in a disaster. Romero landed 57 of 280 shots against Ryan Garcia, managing to drop Garcia in the second round. It wasn’t a pretty effort, but he defied the odds.
Lopez is a brilliant boxer-puncher who can connect whenever there’s an opening. Against Josh Taylor, Lopez landed 158 of 517 shots (30.6%) compared to 82 of 341 (24%) shots for “The Tartan Tornado.” He landed 126 of 571 punches against Arnold Barboza Jr., with Barboza landing 70 of 424.

If Lopez does have a weakness, it’s consistency, which, at times, has been lacking. He can lose his confidence easily, second-guessing his skills. Against Shakur Stevenson, he landed 72 of 468 shots, compared to 165 of 372 shots landed by Stevenson.
Lopez is unorthodox, as is Romero. When put together, can either take down the other? Who will frustrate who the most?
Romero’s power is real, but he is also a real risk. That’s especially true defensively. If Lopez is on another level, he can find an opening. That could spell disaster for Romero. Lopez must also put his foot on the gas the entire fight, not just the beginning rounds. That’s affected him in the past.
Lopez seems motivated, especially with Zuffa Boxing in the background causing a stir. Lopez is ready to take over another division in what could be a surprise contender for Fight of the Year.
