OOLTEWAH, TN — A grueling Friday at The Honors Course bled into Saturday because of weather, but the 2026 U.S. Women’s Amateur is finally down to eight golfers vying for the Robert Cox Trophy.

After Friday morning’s Round of 32, winners were back on the course in the afternoon battling in the Round of 16, but storms forced the eight matches to be completed Saturday morning, where eight golfers punched their ticket into the quarterfinals, which were set for later Saturday morning before the semifinals will be held in the afternoon, barring any more delays.
Among those advancing to the quarterfinals include players from five different countries, a past USGA champion and the youngest player in the field.
Here’s a look at all eight quarterfinalists in the U.S. Women’s Amateur at The Honors Course, as well as Saturday morning matchups and TV information.
No. 1 Anna Iwanaga

The co-medalist from Japan never trailed in her match against Canada’s Michelle Xing, winning 2 and 1. This week, Iwanaga’s caddie, local Courtney Brazier, has been using a translation app to help the pair communicate, and it’s working wonders so far. “She speaks a little English, but she understands numbers perfectly,” Brazier told the Chattanoogan. “So, I’m plugging into my phone ‘175 right of pin a little uphill’ and it translates for her. Plus, I’m pulling out the yardage book a ton and pointing exactly telling her with my hand ‘barely right.’ She understands ‘right,’ she understands ‘left’ and she understands ‘fast’.” Iwanaga is ranked 19th in the world.

No. 24 Seojin Park

Park, from Korea, is ranked 31st in the world and is competing in match play for the first time at the U.S. Women’s Amateur. Last year, she fell on the fourth playoff hole at Bandon Dunes while trying to earn one of the final spots in match play. Now, the 18-year-old Park gets a shot to take down the medalist in the quarterfinals. In the Round of 16, she knocked off Australian Ella Scaysbrook, who was a semifinalist last year.
No. 52 Pinky Chaisilprungruang

Chaisilprungruang, or known as Pinky to most, is a junior a Charlotte and took down nine-time U.S. Women’s Amateur competitor Rachel Heck to advance to her first quarterfinals. She made the Round of 32 last year at Bandon Dunes and is ranked 66th in the world. After her freshman season, she was named a Golfweek All-America selection.

No. 44 Gabrielle Nicastro

The senior at Samford is in the quarterfinals for the first time at the U.S. Women’s Amateur. She won the Alabama State Women’s Amateur to earn her spot in the field, and she’s ranked 380th in the world. Nicastro knocked off LSU’s Ryleigh Knaub 2 and 1 to move into the quarters. This is her second appearance in the U.S. Women’s Amateur.
No. 34 Lily Peng

Peng, a UCLA commit, is into the quarters for the first time at the U.S. Women’s Amateur. She needed extra holes to knock off Lindsay McGrath but got it done on the 21st hole. She won the NGCA Women’s Amateur earlier this summer and made the Round of 16 at the U.S. Girls’ Junior three weeks ago.

No. 26 Yujie Liu

Liu knocked off USC senior Bailey Shoemaker 2 and 1 on Saturday morning to advance into the quarters for the first time. Liu, from China, has a pair of victories in professional events, including at this year’s Orient Masters Beijing Women’s Open. Last week, she finished runner-up at the Girls Junior PGA Championship and made match play at the U.S. Girls’ Junior three weeks ago. She’s ranked 20th in the world.
No. 3 Asterisk Talley

Talley is back into the quarters at the U.S. Women’s Amateur. The 2024 runner-up and 2025 co-medalist knocked off Rachel Lee 3 and 2 on Saturday morning to punch her ticket into the final eight. She nearly made an ace on the eighth hole. Talley, who won the Junior Invitational earlier this year and is a USGA champion, also played on the USA Curtis Cup team in June at Bel-Air. At No. 8 in WAGR, she’s the highest-ranked player left in the field.

No. 40 Maggie Ma

The youngest player in the field, 14-year-old Maggie Ma won the California Women’s Amateur to punch her ticket into the U.S. Women’s Amateur, and then she knocked off the 2026 U.S. Girls’ Junior champion Clairey Lin in the Round of 16 to advance. Ma holed out for birdie from a bunker to force extra holes against Lin and then topped her in 19 holes. She didn’t lead a single hole the entire match and still found a way to win.
