The Guardians managed to salvage the series againsf the Diamondbacks with a shutout win.
There was some fun bench-clearing action before the rain delay after Tim Tawa tried to break up a perfect game with a bunt in the top of the 6th. Tawa also may have ticked folks off with a hard slide into second. Here’s the thing – you can bunt for a hit any time. That’s your right. I also think it’s the opposing team’s right to find it weak-sauce in a 5-0 perfect game. However, Arizona scored like a billion runs in late innings on Friday and Saturday so you can’t blame him for trying to get something going, I guess.

I didn’t mind seeing Rouglas Odor try to start something on a team that’s been pretty lifeless.
Now, we wait to see if the Guardians will make a notable trade or not by 6PM ET. It will be very disappointing to me if they do not add at least one bat, but it won’t be the first time a trade deadline has left me unfulfilled.
AROUND MLB:
The Rays added Freddy Peralta from the Mets, the Cubs added Kevin Gausman (who can kick rocks) from the Blue Jays, and the Yankees added Luis Garcia from the Nationals.
The White Sox destroyed the Rays and took that series. They appear to be a much better team than the Guardians right now. The Tigers destroyed the Athletics and the Twins lost to the Mariners.
