Alex Bowman is set to retire after the 2027 NASCAR Cup Series season, meaning he has one full-time campaign left with Hendrick Motorsports. While Bowman’s retirement comes at only 33 years old, he will be sticking around with Hendrick Motorsports in his post-driving career. However, will he follow Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s footsteps as a broadcaster?
In a press conference, Bowman addressed the possibility of a broadcasting career, and it doesn’t seem likely at all.

“I don’t know that anybody wants to listen to me on the broadcast, if I’m being honest,” Bowman said. “I don’t know. I don’t know that I would be any good at that. That looks really hard. The broadcasting thing, I would say some dumb stuff and probably get fired pretty quickly. I can’t believe that hasn’t happened to me in my driving career.”
While a broadcasting career doesn’t seem to be in the picture for Bowman, he will continue working with Hendrick Motorsports after the 2027 season. For now, the driver of the No. 48 car is focused on winning a race before his retirement and going out on top with a championship in 2027.
