The 30-year-old world number one has experienced a really bizarre 2026 PGA Tour season so far.

Scottie Scheffler has one win to his name, as well as eight top-5 finishes in 13 PGA Tour starts.

However, it has been clear to anyone who has watched him this season that he simply hasn’t had his best form.

The fact that he has recorded a win and so many top-5 finishes is testament to his unbelievable ability to compete, regardless of whether he has his best form or not.

Scheffler has been on another level to every other golfer over the past four years and now he has set a brand new PGA Tour record.

Scheffler’s second round put him in a great position to secure the 21st PGA Tour win of his career, and he followed that round up with a 67 on day three at the Travelers.

He also achieved what no other PGA Tour player ever has before in history on Friday at TPC River Highlands.

By carding a round of 60, Scheffler became the first player in PGA Tour history to shoot every score between 59 and 79 without ever posting a round in the 80s.

That really is a remarkable record.

Some of those rounds in the high 70s came when Scheffler first came out on Tour, and he was nowhere near as polished as a player as he is now.

Scottie Scheffler chasing three of Tiger Woods’ most impressive records

Aside from Woods haul of 82 PGA Tour wins and 15 major championships, Scheffler has three more of his records in his sights.

Woods finished inside the top-25 in 38 consecutive tournaments from 1999 to 2001.

Scheffler currently has 34 consecutive top-25 finishes to his name and he will almost certainly notch up another one this week at the Travelers.

Meanwhile, the 30-year-old from Dallas has been world number one for 162 consecutive weeks, and is now only 119 weeks behind matching Woods’ record.

However, he has a long way to go before he can even consider the possibility of matching Woods’ record of 683 weeks in total as world number one.

Finally, Scheffler has now made 78 consecutive cuts. He needs to make another 64 cuts in a row in order to equal Woods’ record of 142, and 65 to beat it.

Given Scottie Scheffler’s incredible consistency, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that he manages to eclipse Tiger Woods’ consecutive cuts records.
