Scheffler was completely at ease playing alongside Sam Burns at the Travelers on Thursday and Friday, and that comfortable pairing may well have put him in the correct mindset.

He hasn’t won on the PGA Tour since January and for him, that represents quite the drought.

Now he has a chance this weekend to make it two wins for the season, and if he does end up victorious, he will have his sparkling second round of 60 to thank for his success.

He was asked whether fans appreciate just how fine the line can be between the very best golfers in the world shooting a 65 and a 60.

Yeah, I’d say in golf the line is always pretty fine, the Dallas native responded.

Scottie Scheffler comments on the difficulty of backing up a low round

Scheffler was asked by reporters about the so-called phenomenon of players struggling to back up low rounds with another low number.

I think when you are playing good, you’re playing good.

Yeah, I just wouldn’t overthink it. Like today, just continue to focus on my execution and things I can control. We’ll see what the results are.

Those comments from Scheffler prove why he is so good.

He is unquestionably the best in the game at taking one shot at a time. He never gets too far ahead of himself, and that is a recipe for some very successful golf.
