Ronda Rousey had a dangerous look in her eye stepping into the cage on Saturday night.

In her return to MMA after a decade away, she took on another former star who was far removed from her last fight, Gina Carano, in a high-profile Netflix bout. But while a lot was made of each star’s return to MMA, only one proved to truly be prepared for high-level action.

Rousey simply dominated Carano in lightning-quick fashion — the five-round bout was over before either fighter even got a chance to settle in.

Who won Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano?

There were some questions coming into Saturday night about just how well Carano would perform 17 years removed from her last MMA fight despite getting back into peak athletic shape, sharing that she lost around 100 pounds to fight Rousey.

Those concerns showed themselves in rapid fashion.

Rousey, who stepped into the cage with a terrifying demeanor, had Carano on the ground within seconds, then forced her to submit via armbar less than 20 seconds after the fight began.

The fight itself was also a celebration of each female MMA star, as Rousey and Carano made highly-anticipated returns. They shared a moment together in the moments after Carano’s submission.
