While he is certainly controversial, Jake Paul does draw in massive numbers for the sport of boxing. However, his time in the sport may be coming to an abrupt ending.
The influencer spoke with Ariel Helwani on Monday and revealed that he still has not recovered from his double broken jaw that came at the hands of Anthony Joshua. That injury was sustained last December, and it has been almost five months since he received the decimating right hook.
If Paul were to be unable to return to boxing, it is unclear what direction his career would head in. For now, he revealed it’s up to the doctors to determine how long his fighting career can go on, as a broken jaw can be devastating for a boxer to recover from.
Here’s why the YouTuber-turned-boxer may have to call it quits in the ring.

“We just have to wait and figure out what the smartest thing is for me.”

How long will it take Jake Paul’s jaw to heal?
It is unclear at the moment when Paul’s jaw will be fully recovered. According to the Cleveland Clinic, a broken jaw can take “a few months” to heal. Since Paul’s jaw was broken in two separate places, it may take an even longer recovery time than what comes from a regular broken jaw.
